| All Things Are Flowing Emin Petrosyan Armenia Granite, marble, metal, 7' x 5' x 1' (map # 35) |
ARTIST STATEMENT: The compositional makeup of the sculpture is as follows: Metal laths protrude rhythmically from the right and left sides of the crude stone block. White balls are affixed to the tips of the lathes on one side, black balls on the other, symbolizing the positive and negative, kind and wicked, noon and night states of life. As with Hebacleitus (5th century philosopher), the impulsive force at the center of all this is fire, so I have installed the symbol of fire and the sun in the center of the composition. |
